Why we study financial management?

Suppose you don`t plane to major in finance. Is the subject still important to you?

Absolutely, for two reasons. First, you need knowledge of finance to make much personal decision, ranging from investing for your retirement to deciding whether to lease versus buy a car. Second, virtually all important business decisions have financial implications, so important decisions are generally made by teams from the finance, marketing, human resources, information technology, producing, accounting and legal department.
Therefore, if you want to succeed in the business arena. You must not only b highly competent in your own area but also must have a familiarity with the others business discipline, especially finance. Because there are financial implications in virtually all business, non financial executives definitely must known enough finance to work these implications into their own specialized analysis. Because of this finance is important for every business student regardless of his or her major.
